Alaska (Sep 2000)

up
We went to Alaska for Labor Day in 2000 with John and Pattie. We flew to Anchorage from Seattle (saw the Northern Lights on the way up!) and then drove up to Denali National Park where we went flight-seeing around Mt McKinley (the highest mountain in the USA at 20,320ft). Then we went to the Alaskan State Fair (Matt had a Caribou sausage) and saw the world's largest cabbage. We then drove down Turnagain Arm and stayed at Alyeska. The next day we went to see Portage Glacier, some spawning salmon and a Big Game park. On the way back to Seattle we had amazing views of glaciers, and then on our drive back to our house Matt got his first speeding ticket. :-) 1am. on a bank holiday. what's that about??
